The Do dham Yatra in the Garhwal Himalayas is an a small spiritual yatra of the Hindus. The Do dham are nestled in the beautiful Garhwal Himalayas. They are - Kedarnath and Badrinath. and the Gangotri and Yamunotri.
The yatra starts in late May, there are two routes for yatra starting from Dehradun or Haridwar. The Do dham Yatra is done from west to east , starting Kedarnath and Badrinath and Yamunotri to Gangotri. Starting point of Yatra is Haridwar and Rishikesh.
The yatra is a holy journey and the yatris believed that it washes away their sins and helps them attain Nirvana.

Dodham is usually done by road, helicopter or a combination of both.
The total distance covered during the DoDham yatra is around 800 kms approx and around 80 hrs - 90 hrs of driving and an approx of 22 km of trek. Minimum time taken to complete the journey is around 5 - 6 days from Haridwar.
The route covers around 5 districts within a span of 5 to 6 days.
