      Panch Prayag is the holy yatra to the five holy confluences of the river such as the Alaknanda, Mandakini, Dhuli Ganga, Pindari and the Bhagirathi in the Garhwal Himalayas. The Panch Prayags are Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, Nandaprayag and Vishnuprayag.

      Panch Prayag Religious Importance

      There are around 14 Prayags in the country. The Panch Prayags of Garhwal are one of the most important Prayags.

      The Panch Prayags plays great importance in the life of the hindus as they come here, and pray to goddess Ganga for the salvation of their ancestors and to wash away their sins.

      The pilgrims bathe in the rivers here and perform shradha and and cleansing ceremonies of their ancestors.

      Panch Prayag Travel Guide

      DAY 01: Haridwar - Devprayag

      80 - 90 kms Travel - reach Devprayag and visit the temple.

      DAY 02: Devprayag - Rudraprayag

      70 - 80 kms Travel - reach Rudraprayag and visit the temple.

      DAY 03: Rudraprayag - Karnaprayag

      40 kms Travel - reach Karnaprayag and visit the temple.

      DAY 04: Karnaprayag - Nandaprayag

      40 kms Travel - reach Karnaprayag and visit the temple.

      DAY 05: Nandaprayag - Vishnuprayag

      60 kms Travel - reach Vishnuprayag and visit the temple.

      DAY 06: Vishnuprayag - Haridwar

      280 kms Travel to Haridwar via Rishikesh.

      Cotton in summer and heavy woollens in winter is advisable. The summer season extends from March to July . The winter season is from October to February.

      The yatra season from February to October is the ideal time to make this holy Panch Prayag Yatra.
