Kalsi is a beautiful village in the Jaunsaar-Baawar tribal belt region of Uttarakhand. Kalsi is 49km from Dehradun at the junction of Yamuna and Tons river. It is surrounded by lush green forest of Oak and Sal Trees and vast green valley divided by the Yamuna and Tons rivers.
The village is occupied with the people of Mundar, Khils and Bhutis communities. Kalsi hill station offers a enchanting view of Garhwal Himalayan ranges.
Kalsi has a pear-shaped quartz rock edict which is 10 feet high, 10 feet long and 8 feet wide. It shows an outline of elephant depicting lord Buddha descend from Tushita heaven.
The inscriptions in Brahmi and Prakrit lipi have messages of non-violence, love and responsibilities towards others written on them.
Kalsi has a very good weather throughout the year with mild winter and cool summers. It offers you the best views of the snow laden Himalayas peaks of the Garhwal Himalayas.

Paonta Sahib There are many well known gurudwaras here related to the tenth sikh Guru Govind Singh.
Timli Pass The battle between the Gurkhas and the British was fought here.
One can also enjoy fishing and angling in the Yamuna by requesting prior permission from the forest department.
