Chakrata is almost 70kms from Mussoorie the queen of the hills.
Chakrata is also an army cantonment area and is used by the Indian Army for training purpose due to this some parts of this town are restricted for civilians.

Lord Mahasu Temple and Lakhamandal Temple are some of the well known temples in the area. The village also has several natural caves.
The Lakhmandal - Kalsi Trek is a moderate - easy trek for the trekking enthusiasts. It is a historical trek through the Jaunsar - Babar region in Chakrata
The snow powdered hill slopes of Mundali ( 35 kms from Chakrata ) are apt for skiing for all kinds of skiers from beginners to professional. The ski slopes are available from mid - December to last of Febraury
Kharamba peak is well known among nature lovers, trekkers, bird watchers and wild life enthusiasts. It is a surrounded by green lofty forests with amazing flora and fauna.
