The nearest airport is in Dehradun Jolly Grant, 295 km , and the nearest railway station is in Rishikesh . After Rishikesh we have to reach Govind Ghat i.e 276 km away via - Devprayag - Rudraprayag - Chamoli - Joshimath - GovindGhat by road.
It takes around 6 - 7 hrs to reach Govind Ghat from Rishikesh. From Govind Ghat it’s a 13 km trek along a steep, narrow, path to base camp at Ghangaria. This will take between 4 to 6 hours. After Ghangaria the path to the valley is a gradual descent and not so tiring. The valley of Flowers, is a further 3 km from Ghangaria.
Valley of Flowers nearest destination Haridwar is well connected by trains from all major cities in India such as Delhi, Mumbai etc.
There are lots of buses available for Haridwar from ISBT, Kashmere Gate in New Delhi. They include AC,Deluxe, Volvo, and ordinary Uttarakhand State buses. These buses depart every half hour 24X7.
The total journey can take anywhere between 6 to 7 hours from Delhi to Rishikesh and another 7 to 8 hrs to Govindghat and further 1hr to the Valley of Flowers.
The uttarakhand state transport ordinary buses are cheap and economical mode of transport if on budget and can charge anywhere between 200 - 250 from Delhi to Rishikesh and the same from Rishikesh to Govindghat.
Private taxi or cab fare is anywhere between 4000 - 5000 for a one way journey from Delhi to Rishikesh.
